Introducing Our New School Director, Maribeth Jeffreys

Emmanuel United Methodist Kindergarten welcomes Maribeth Jeffreys as the school's new School Director, marking her 10th year in the field of education. Holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Mississippi State University, Maribeth brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role.

Born and raised in Collierville, Maribeth's passion for teaching and working with young children has been a constant throughout her life. Inspired by her own kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Morrison, Maribeth knew from an early age that she wanted to be a kindergarten teacher herself.

After graduating from Mississippi State University, Maribeth seized the opportunity to teach at Tara Oaks Elementary, where she taught both third grade and kindergarten. Seeing children learn and achieve significant milestones, such as learning to read, has been incredibly rewarding for her.

However, as Maribeth's career progressed, she felt a desire for a new challenge that involved working with young children in an administrative capacity.

In a serendipitous moment, while attending a preschool event for her own child, Maribeth observed the preschool director and felt an instant connection. This experience led her to consider pursuing an administrative position in education.

Shortly after, Maribeth came across the announcement that Emmanuel United Methodist Kindergarten was seeking a new school director. Taking it as a sign, she applied and is now delighted to be joining the school as its new School Director.

On a personal note, Maribeth met her husband, Adam, after college, and they have been happily married for six years. They have a two-year-old son named Russell, and they are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their second son, Brooks, in late August.

Despite the challenges of starting a new job in education and expecting a baby at the same time, Maribeth is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.

Outside of work, Maribeth and her family enjoy the tranquility of living on a farm in Piperton. They cherish the beauty of wide-open spaces, breathtaking sunsets from their back porch, and the unique experience of having cows as their neighbors. Maribeth has a passion for cooking and sharing meals with close friends, and she also appreciates traveling whenever possible. As members of Independent Presbyterian Church, Maribeth and her family actively engage with their community.

Maribeth is eager to meet the dedicated staff, students, and families at Emmanuel United Methodist Kindergarten. She is grateful for the warm welcome she has received as School Director and looks forward to contributing to the school's exceptional learning environment.

The school community is excited to have Maribeth Jeffreys as their new School Director and anticipates a fruitful journey filled with growth and learning under her leadership.

Maribeth, Welcome to Emmanuel United Methodist Kindergarten, where exciting new beginnings await!
