Our Annual Day of Giving and Spirit Week is an important week for our school and our children. We all enjoy special days all week and encourage all our families to participate in our Annual Day of Giving, Wednesday, April 27, and Kindergarten Sunday, May 1.
Our theme this year is "Play Makes the World Go Round" and we are focusing Annual Day of Giving on improvements to our building and playgrounds. Help us Replace, Replenish, and Repair at EUMK with a special donation.
We are partnering with the church to replace the HVAC system this summer.
The benefits include:
- Individual controls for heat and AC in each classroom
- Significant upgrade to current codes providing greater fire safety and quality of air
- Better lighting and improved appearance in the hallways
April 25-May 1
We are kicking off the week with a photo contest. Every family will receive a yard sign. Post a picture of your sign in your yard with your family and/or children on Facebook or Instagram and tag @eumkmemphis and use #shiningatEUMK.
Every class that reaches 100% participation will receive a prize.
The children, teachers, and staff will have so much fun all week.
On Monday we start the week wearing our crazy socks.
Then Tuesday and Wednesday everyone shows their school spirit in EUMK t-shirts. We offer two t-shirt days so that students that don't attend every day will have the opportunity.
Wednesday is our Annual Day of Giving to the Annual Fund for school improvements.
Thursday is PJ Day and Change Day. The children can bring some change in a ziploc bag or a roll because "even the smallest can make a change with change." We want them to feel included in the Giving /Spirit Week. Based on the amount they bring, we will give them a choice of what we use their donation to Replace, Replenish or Repair.
And on Friday, everyone can wear their favorite sports team shirts, hats, or uniforms.
Our Spirit week concludes on Kindergarten Sunday, May 1. We invite all our families to come to Emmanuel United Methodist Church for second service at 11am to hear our Kindergarten and K4 classes sing. Our annual Kindergarten Sunday tradition will continue with our Kindergarteners being presented with a special book. The service will also be live streamed for those out of town family members that can't be there.
Before the church service we will have a reception in the Commons from 10:30-10:50am for all the EUMK families and staff. Come visit and meet all our teachers, staff, and board members and enjoy muffins and coffee.
